Over the wall. Longwall Street, Oxford. Brave folk use ladders to climb over the 15th-century wall beside Magdalen College Grove while beating the bounds of St Peter in the East parish, May 1908. The ceremony is led by the parish priest, seen here up the ladder. Down below, choristers scramble for pennies dropped by one of the visitors.
